Flourishing, entrepreneurial digital business based in central Brighton is currently seeking a qualified and highly ambitious finance professional to join their organisation as Financial Controller. Several impressive years of growth and expansion means that this individual will be joining at a very exciting time and play a lead role in the organisation's continued success.

Reporting directly into the Managing Directors, this individual will partner them in making key business decisions around expansion prospects and new business ventures etc. They will implement effective financial controls and reporting methods and be a pivotal member of the senior management team. They foresee this role quickly developing into a Finance Director position in-line with the business's growth, in addition to this person recruiting and training a small team to support them.

This role would suit a practice trained individual at the qualified level who has either already made the move into industry or is looking to do so. Ideally you will have a sound academic record including good ACA / ACCA pass rate.

Role overview:

• Oversee, review and adhere to the budgets for each business department
• Assist in budgetary planning
• Ensure all financial practices are in line with legislation & regulation
• Monitor Cashflow, accounts and other financial transactions
• Prepare official reports on a monthly and annual basis
• Update & implement financial processes
• Contract auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up to date
• End of Year records, running year end closings
• Overseeing of transactions across sister companies
• Tax returns, Tax Planning and VAT
• Providing profit & loss reports, balance sheets, quarterly, budgets and forecasts.
• Preparing year end audit files
• Maintaining and improving internal controls
• Company House and National Statistics returns

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified accountant
• A dynamic, driven individual who communicates professionally and confidently at all levels
• Existing experience of leading an organisation through a similar period of change and expansion
• At least strong intermediate Excel skills, preferably advanced
