Job description

Pan’Artisan is a manufacturing company, producing frozen pizza products that we supply an ever-expanding list of wholesalers and distributors, who deliver our products throughout the UK. Job purpose:

Performs specialised maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment, inspect machinery, diagnose issues, execute scheduled maintenance, install and commission new equipment, monitor performance to reduce breakdowns, support continuous improvements, and ensure safety and environmental compliance for optimal operation.

Main Tasks:

  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with internal policies and relevant regulatory requirements that include BRC, EDS, environmental, waste management, emissions, and hazardous materials handling
  • Conduct inspections, repairs and scheduled maintenance, and repairs according to the Planned Preventive Maintenance schedule, ensuring machinery remains operational or downtime minimal
  • Investigate causes of incidents or accidents involving equipment and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks. Analysis equipment failure data and apply fault finding procedures to determine the root cause of breakdowns and implement effective repairs.
  • Assist with developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to increase equipment lifespan and reliability
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations related to machinery and plant operations
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance activities, equipment uptime, and overall plant efficiency
  • Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure quality parts and services are delivered on time
  • Review and update maintenance procedures and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards
  • Recommend improvements to enhance machinery reliability and efficiency, and report on production processes, methods, cycle times, downtime, machine availability, and waste management.
  • Lead or assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery and upgrades.
  • Provide an immediate reaction to breakdowns and implement effective repairs, applying root-cause analysis as part of the repair process.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Trade tested in electrical and mechanical trade – essential
  • Mechanical & electrical fault finding experience - essential
  • Welding and pipework experience – essential
  • Industrial machinery maintenance - essential
  • F-Gas qualification / refrigeration experience - desirable
  • Experience in building or facilities maintenance - desirable
  • 2 years’ experience in the food manufacturing industry – desirable
  • Computer literate & communicate in English (Language of operation onsite)
  • Certified to use lifting equipment – desirable
