An award-winning Sussex accountancy firm is looking to hire a Private Client Paralegal or Legal Executive within their Lewes office.

While you will be working within an accountancy firm, our client is very keen to hire someone with excellent knowledge of Trusts, Estates and Wills, meaning that legal professionals would be a perfect fit for this position. Having recently obtained their ICAEW probate accreditation, this role would fit within our clients wider Private Client Tax team and help to strengthen their offering within this sector.

In this job, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including the tax affairs of both trusts and individuals. Probate, wills and inheritance tax will also form a large part of your new role, which is where your knowledge gained as a Paralegal or Legal Executive would come into its own. This role will be yours to take ownership of and drive the business forward.

There is off street parking next to the office and Lewes train station is just a 10-minute walk away, so is easily commutable from a large portion of Sussex.

About you

• You could have a range of qualifications, from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) to CILEx, ATT or CTA.
• A desire to develop a wider range of skills within Private Client and take on a new challenge.
• Adaptable and able to transfer knowledge obtained in a legal setting to an accountancy practice.
• Ability to take ownership and drive a new service line forward.
• Be able to engage in good conversations with clients about potentially difficult topics in order to enhance business development.
• Show a willingness to gain extra qualifications, such as becoming a qualified will-writer from the Institute of Professional Willwriters, if not already gained.

The salary associated with this role has been set by the agency and should, therefore, be viewed as market rate.
