Part Time Project Worker (18.75 hours per week)

Salary £19,965 per annum, pro rata salary £9,982 per annum

The post entails working as part of a rolling shift pattern that includes early and late shifts and weekend working with the option to provide sleep in cover which is paid at an additional £60 per sleep in.

Worthing Churches Homeless Projects is a multifunctional homelessness organisation that works in Worthing and the surrounding areas. It has over 75 staff and 260 volunteers. Its mission is to end the need to sleep rough. 

STAH acts as the primary supported housing response to rough sleeping within the local community, working with some of its most enduring and complex needs. You will be part of a team that provides 24/7 double cover assessing the needs of individuals and exploring housing options. A holistic approach is used to find personalised routes out of homelessness.

SSP acts as the main move on pathway from STAH, with the team providing 1 single shift cover daily. This service is an environment where residents are given space and responsibility. Support continues to be offered through key working and specialist interventions. There is an emphasis on involvement within the community, social networking and testing oneself in preparation for move on. They are 15 and 14 bed schemes respectively.

The team adopts the harm minimisation approach in regards to alcohol and substances and promotes reflective practice. The houses are psychologically informed environments. It's essential that you can motivate and inspire clients to make positive life changes.

You must have the resilience to take responsibility and make difficult decisions in the face of challenging cases both independently and as part of the team. Good I.T. skills and the ability to manage and plan your own workload and meet deadlines and targets is essential.
