An opportunity has arisen at St Mary's School in Horam to recruit 3 Teaching Assistants to join their dynamic education team on a fixed term contract. One of the posts will be 0.6FTE, likely to be three days per week (15 hours TA plus 3 hours MDSA). St Mary's School, part of the Sabden Multi Academy Trust is a specialist residential school for boys with Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties.

The main responsibility of the post (25 hours per week - TA rate) will be to support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum, both by directly working with pupils and assisting in preparation of resources. In addition there is a requirement to work an hour each day as Midday Supervisory Assistant (5 hours per week - MDSA rate).

No formal qualifications are required however, applicants will be expected to demonstrate a sensitive and empathic approach to working with children who have Special Educational Needs. If successful you will become part of a very committed and hardworking team. While some experience of working with vulnerable young people is preferable it is not essential. We will provide you with high quality training and support.
