About the Role

Mayfield CE Primary School is seeking two main scale lower Key Stage 2 teachers for our wonderful school from September 2017. One role is fixed term until July 2018 and one is permanent.

An interest in leading computing would be an advantage but is not a necessity. We have a wonderful team at Mayfield who are incredibly supportive of their colleagues. Our classes are small, we are well resourced and our parents and children are fantastic. We are lucky enough to have the use of local woodland and so have embraced outdoor learning; we are part of the Village Project with our feeder pre-school and have the use of some amazing facilities at the independent school directly opposite us. We never stand still at Mayfield; we are always keen to reflect, move forward and continue our journey to excellence and would welcome a new colleague with the same mind set. We are always keen to develop future leaders and work closely with our local Education Improvement Partnership to access a wide range of training opportunities.

Our website is a wealth of information and I would encourage you to explore it fully.

Since September 2016 we have been part of the Aspire Federation which has allowed us to work very closely with our partner school, Five Ashes CE Primary. This strong partnership gives our staff the opportunity to further support each other, share ideas and also allows greater opportunities for shared CPD.

Our school was inspected by OFSTED in December 2015 and graded good and has just had a successful SIAMS inspection.

If you feel you would like to join our wonderful and supportive learning community we would love to meet you.

Visits to our school are an essential part of understanding why people love working here, please call the school office and make an appointment; you will be very warmly welcomed.

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2009.

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2009 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision.  Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.

Additional Information

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.   This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau).

Equal Opportunities

East Sussex County Council is an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. All applications are treated on merit.
