This post will take forward plans to: • ensure children and families are at the heart of all we do • promote best outcomes for children and young people with SEND and smooth the transition to adulthood • implement the review of special school and PRU provision • work together with health and care services to support holistic integrated assessment and provision

• review the work of the Inclusion Support Services • ensure the LA builds skills and resilience appropriately in mainstream schools through information, advice, guidance and training • ensure the LA provides sufficient equitable funding to mainstream schools to enable them to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND

Activities will involve working with schools, colleges and other providers, and with parents and young people. 

The LA intends to use the funding provided to increase its capacity so that their review and planning of special provision continues to be high-quality and collaborative, where appropriate undertaken jointly with neighbouring authorities. The post-holder will also help implement existing plans and initiatives.
