About the Role

Sedlescombe is looking for a Deputy Headteacher who is passionate about teaching and learning to join our committed and supportive team. The role would suit someone who has had leadership experience and is an excellent Key Stage 2 class teacher.

Sedlescombe is a rural one form-entry Church of England Primary School at the heart of the village. It is a happy school in which all strive to do their best for the children, their families and each other so that everyone reaches their full potential. The school has recently been judged by Ofsted as securely good and we now want to build on this to become an outstanding school.

The governing body are seeking to appoint a deputy headteacher who is: - highly motivated and committed to raising standards and helping us on our journey to ‘outstanding’ - an inspirational classroom practitioner with a commitment to planning and delivering exciting, engaging and challenging cross-curricular learning - positive and nurturing with strong behaviour management - a team player with excellent interpersonal skills who can work collaboratively with staff, governors and parents/carers - caring and committed to developing and nurturing the whole child - willing to join in fully with our Christian ethos and the life of our school - a leader who has a proven track record in achieving positive outcomes for all pupils - able to lead and manage a core subject - able to lead assessment across the school

The school will need to ensure that they are not knowingly employing a person who is disqualified under the 2009 Regulations in connection with relevant childcare provision. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate to the school, by completing a self-declaration form as part of the pre-employment checks process, that they have not been disqualified under the 2009 Regulations.

If the preferred candidate is found to be disqualified under the 2009 Regulations, the offer of employment will be subject to the application by the preferred candidate to Ofsted for a waiver and the receipt of a waiver from Ofsted.
