Brighton & Hove is a high cost housing city with a high number of people sleeping rough. We have several teams who focus on prevention of homelessness and where it can't be prevented to undertake homeless decisions under the housing Act 1996 Part 7. The postholder will work as part of a team of managers in Housing Needs but will have particular responsibility for undertaking statutory reviews of homelessness decisions. BHCC provides a reviews service to several other local authorites and so we are looking for a manager who is very experienced and competent in undertaking statutory homeless reviews. You will be managing a team of around 6 people. The service has recently undergone changes to streamline and improve the customer journey which will need to be kept under review as we move more towards earlier interventions as part of the trailblazer work that will need to be embedded. You will therefore need to be experienced in change management as we will be continually improving the service over the next two years.
