About the Role

We are enthusiastic about and committed to partnership working with neighbouring Local Authorities and Universities which strengthens the social work workforce, practice development and research mindedness.

The Social Work Education Team, working with senior managers in Adult Social Care and Children’s Services, is responsible for ensuring that the local and national agenda for developing the profession is embedded at all levels of the organisation.

Recent innovations and successful developments include the improved quantity and quality of placement offers to social work students, the formal Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme for newly qualified social workers, the internal and external professional development training offer to social workers, coherent career pathway choices and the leadership development programmes for managers.

As a confident, experienced and skilled professional, you will bring imagination, creativity and curiosity to the training and education of social work staff locally and regionally. You will have experience of driving practice improvements which develops social work professionals. You will model an inquisitive, reflective and learning approach which produces the best results for staff, clients, carers and service users in East Sussex.

Additional Information

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit.
