Impetus is a Brighton & Hove-based charity providing befriending, advocacy and other support services to people who are isolated because of age, disability, poor mental or physical health. We help people make connections in their community, build their own skills, and improve their well-being. We have a small staff team and over 300 dedicated volunteers who provide over 11,000 hours of support in our city each year. Our staff and volunteers tell us they love that their role gives them the chance to make a difference to others.

We are looking for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to recruit, train and support a growing team of volunteer Community Navigators, as we expand our service across the city.  The volunteers you work with will provide a bridge between patients referred to our service by GPs and the social, practical and emotional support offered by the Voluntary and Community Sector, whose help can improve patients' health, well-being and quality of life.

You will have a proven track record of working with volunteers to support vulnerable people, together with a demonstrable focus on delivering the best possible service to users.  Excellent organisational and decision-making skills, an ability to communicate effectively and commitment to equality and diversity are also essential.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory enhanced criminal record checks.

Salary:  NJC scale points 26-28 (£23,166 - £24,717 full-time) pro-rata 3% employer pension contribution
