Public Health and commissioning of prevention services now sit in local government. Prevention can be delivered in a variety of settings, including primary care (GPS, Pharmacies, etc.). The Public Health CCG team leads work on primary care quality and commissioning of various PH services, including Locally Commissioned Services, Healthy Living Pharmacies. This post leads on the large LCS work stream covering approximately 4 million. In addition they will take forward the PH Cancer work, which is multiagency; and working with the CCG on child health. The post is managed by the CCG/Health Protection Public Health Consultant and will provide support to the consultant post to ensure evidence based prevention services are delivered in primary care and where possible in other NHS services. The post will also need to support the Consultant with other tasks, for example interpreting and summarising NHSE and PHE data to assure the DPH regarding, immunisation, screening and other health protection service delivery.
