There is a mix of casework, senior administration and coordinator skills needed for this job. Key in this role is that an education support worker has sole responsibility for caseload and is expected to deal with highly complex caseloads with minimum supervision. It is therefore expected that candidates are qualified to degree level and have experience of working in an educational or social care setting. The successful candidate will be expected to be able to influence and have gravitas when dealing with schools, parents and other professionals. They will also take responsibility for commissioning services to support the education of children who have previously been in care. Although the role is mainly based in Brighton it will involve some travel mainly within Sussex. A driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is therefore desirable.
