About the Role
A secondment opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker or Resource Officer in Mental Health. This is to cover team members who are undertaking approved mental health practitioner training in January 2017. The post is in the Mental Health Recovery Teams & Duty and Assessment Teams covering the rural and urban areas of the west of East Sussex as well as Hastings and surrounding rural area. We provide social care to people with severe and enduring mental health problems. The posts are in a busy team focusing on longer term complex work and also short term complex work.
You will have an established case load and provide cover for the team across the 3 bases in the west and the east. These are in Newhaven, Eastbourne, Uckfield and Hastings and are co-located with our health colleagues in Sussex Partnership Foundation Trust offering an adult social care service to clients with a severe and/or enduring mental health difficulty. The post will be based in the Eastbourne and Hastings offices, however there is flexibility in this arrangement.
Resettlement and Self-Directed Support for people with severe and enduring mental health problems are a key feature of the role, as is the ability to act as an Investigating Officer using Safeguarding Adults at Risk Procedures.
If appointed as social worker you will be HCPC registered and it is essential that you are a car driver as the post covers this large urban and rural area. This is a demanding, but rewarding role and would be a good opportunity for a Social Worker wanting to develop their skills in the field of mental health.
Salaries will be commensurate with the post.
Additional Information
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.
Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.
