About the Role

St Wilfrid’s hospice is a local charity providing skilled and compassionate care and treatment for all patients with complex needs as they near the end of life.   Our vision is of a community where people talk openly about dying, live well until the end of their life and where nobody dies alone, afraid or in pain

We are looking to recruit bank drivers to work within our Wellbeing service.

This role involves transporting patients and family members to and from the hospice for appointments and clinic attendances. You will be accompanied on the journeys by a volunteer and will assist with the co-ordination of the volunteer driving team, ensuring appropriate information is communicated to the volunteer drivers and all transport requests are organised in a timely manner.

This role also involves assisting with the maintenance of documentation relating to the hospice vehicle, cleanliness of the vehicle and reporting of any faults.

The successful candidates will be organised, have excellent interpersonal skills and, due to the nature of the role, be able to remain calm in a variety of situations.

You will be first aid trained or willing to work towards this qualification within the first three months of starting in the post.

Additional Information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.
