The British Red Cross Assisted Discharge Service operates from the Royal Sussex County hospital, 12 hours a day, seven days a week. We work with vulnerable and elderly patients, transporting them home from hospital and resettling them once there. In addition we offer a series of follow up visits to support patients and help them regain their independence following their discharge.  We are now looking for a dynamic and motivated person who will liaise with health professionals at the hospital and help develop and implement the follow up service ensuring that correct support plans are put in place and that our service users receive the help they need. This person will carry out visits and recruit and manage a team of volunteers, who will assist in the delivery of this service. The hours of this post are 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday. This is a role which requires an excellent organiser and communicator -someone who is a self-starter wanting to make a real difference to people's lives.  The successful candidate must have a valid driving licence and a car. British Red Cross is a volunteer-led humanitarian organisation that helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We enable vulnerable people at home and overseas to prepare for and respond to emergencies in their own communities.
