About the Role

As part of the leadership group of the service you will work alongside partner agencies, commissioners and Senior managers to further develop care pathways for people being referred for Specialist Accommodation to ensure needs are met in the least restrictive environment possible. This will focus on pathways for timely discharge from longer stay hospital admissions, supporting the team in reducing admissions to residential care and the development of robust move on plans.

You will have day to day responsibility for the allocation of assessments, reviews and other associated tasks and alongside senior managers develop systems to ensure this is managed efficiently.

As a practicing AMHP you will have extensive experience of complex caseload management and highly developed assessment and risk management skills. You will be expected to participate in the local AMHP rota

You will also carry a small caseload as well as provide advice, guidance and supervision to other members of the teams and be able to support staff to maintain a consistent level of performance. A detailed understanding of the Mental Capacity Act is also required as you will be undertaking capacity assessments, Chairing Best Interest Meetings and if not already completed undertake the BIA training course at the earliest opportunity.

The base for this position is negotiable, but there will be an expectation to work across county.

This is a varied and interesting role and will be focused on providing senior social work input to those people supported by our service in Specialist Accommodation.
