The Department is responsible for assisting local business to comply with required standards across the field of environmental health and trading standards.

The role will focus on technical support for front line services and will offer an opportunity to develop a wide range of administrative, organisational and communication skills.

The course is run by City College Brighton & Hove who is responsible for supporting you with your learning and carrying out assessments. The course has core modules to complete and a number of optional units. Your work experience will be linked to the modules and units in your course. You will receive additional support from a nominated mentor, throughout the duration of the Apprenticeship.

Apprentices will gain knowledge of administrative tasks and duties across the field of services provided by Regulatory Services including animal welfare, food safety, licensing, health and safety, pest control, pollution control, public health, taxi licencing and trading standards. Learning to process licence applications, assist with recording and retrieve information on complaints, inspections, actions, accidents etc providing advice to a large range of service users. You will also be issuing customer surveys and learning how to process invoices and payments.

Apprentices will receive a training allowance of £5.30ph/£10,225 per annum and will be working towards a Level 2 Business Administration.
