Volks Electric Railway. 1 Part Time Seasonal Train Driver & Cashier, 20 hours per week.

Required March 7th to September 2nd. 2016 p/t.

Enthusiastic and motivated staff are required to work a rota, this includes working five weekends in six, and some Bank Holidays to 6.30pm. During the summer season after you have received training and certification, you will be driving trains along the beach adjacent to Madeira Drive.
Cashiering on the World’s Oldest Electric Railway is also required alternate days..
You must have extensive cash handling experience, and excellent customer care skills.
You must be able to show past experience of working in shops or retail with the public.
Experience of driving motor vehicles is an advantage.

It is also a requirement that you are physically fit with good eyesight as a medical test is required to drive the trains.
You must have a basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues around any railway.

Train driving and cashiering is carried out on alternate days on a rota basis and you get two days off during the week, but not always the same days.
Full training will be given in driving the Volks Railway Trains and in cashiering with our machines, and you will be required to undertake some exams and gain certification.
A total commitment to teamwork and a full understanding of all health and safety issues on railways are the most important qualities for this position.

We have one part time position 20 hours per week Monday to Friday 12.00pm to 16.00pm covering the lunch breaks.
