Originally a deer hunting forest, Ashdown Forest, designated as a European Natura 2000 site and as a Site of Special Scientific Interest, is now one of the largest free public access spaces in the South East.

Following the retirement of the current post holder, the Board of Conservators of Ashdown Forest is looking to appoint either an exceptional candidate to take up the combined role on a full time basis,  or, given the discrete skill set required for each, appointing two candidates on a part-time basis.  Please make clear on your application form whether you are applying for the combined or a single role.

This is an opportunity to work as part of a small team in a unique organisation where no two days are ever the same! You will need to show that you are able to:

• Provide a professional governance administration service to the Board, including meeting management, Bye-law Compliance and co-ordination of legal advice and/or
• Provide strong financial management, reporting and control, and professional guidance and support on financial matters to the Board, Director and budget holders

Applicants should be educated to degree level and/or have considerable relevant workplace experience, enjoy working to deadlines and be an excellent communicator along with an aptitude for creative and strategic thinking, leadership and organisational skills.
