We are looking for a Learning Mentor to work in KS1/EYFS. You need to be someone inspiring, dynamic and enthusiastic with a passion for working with children and families in challenging circumstances and an unwavering belief in all they can achieve. You will also need the flexibility of occasionally being available to stay at short notice until 5pm to cover absence from our after school club (on Scale 3 pay). We would also consider part time/reduced hours. Essential Skills, Abilities and Experience:- • Minimum of 2 years' experience of working with/ supporting families and/or children • Working knowledge of the national curriculum in the EYFS and KS1 • Proven experience of working successfully with disaffected pupils in the EYFS and KS1 including those with challenging behaviour • Proven ability to be able to prepare written records, for example reports to feed into the general school report for each pupil and keep accurate, up-to-date records • Minimum of two years' experience working with speech and language programmes in the EYFS and KS1 • Ability to identify potential barriers to learning and to work extremely well with other school staff to engage in strategies to overcome these barriers • Have an understanding of issues relating to child protection Does this sound like you?
