Brighton and Hove has an exciting opportunity for 3 experienced full time social workers to work as valued members of staff within the Adult Social Care Department.   We need Social Workers who are experienced in working within complex scenarios and who have a range of experience in Adult Safeguarding work and Mental Capacity Assessments. We are looking for people who are confident to develop their skills and who are able to demonstrate a level of professional autonomy, as well as Social Workers who are flexible and confident with IT skills and systems

One of the roles will be based in one of the Integrated Primary care Locality Teams in Brighton and Hove. This post originally started as a project funded by monies available through the Better Care Fund, the first year was a positive one and this post has now been made permanent. We are looking for a Social Worker who is keen to have a significant role in shaping how we move forward with integrating with our health colleagues. Therefore we need a Social Worker who is experienced and confident in working in multi disciplinary environments and who can be a keen representative of the Social Work profession and of Adult Social Care. The post will be physically based mainly within the IPCT offices/surgeries in the community but work styles has allowed the opportunity for this worker to move between health and social care offices.

The other full time Social work posts will not be part of the project with Health. However we are actively working towards the integration agenda so we are in the process of making this happen. We need Social Workers who are ready for the challenges that new legislation is bringing. We need Social Workers who are ready for the challenges of taking forward excellent person centred work while working in an environment of significant budgetary constraints.

Please be aware that we expect our Social Workers to be flexible [apart from the Social Worker project post funded partly with health] the 2 posts will be within Adult Social Care where they are required.
