YOT Reparation Worker/ Unpaid Work Project Worker (sessional)

East Sussex Youth Offending Team is looking to recruit up to 3 Unpaid Reparation Worker/ Unpaid Work Project Worker on relief contracts.  The workers will be called upon in busy periods to work directly with young people who have to complete Reparation Worker/ Unpaid Work Project Worker hours as directed by the Court and Referral Order Panels. Unpaid Work and Reparation is delivered in the community and is an opportunity for young people to recognise and repair some of the harm caused by their offending.  We work with a number of partners including local charities to help young people understand the consequences of their offending and the impact it has upon local communities. It is also an opportunity for young people to experience and learn new skills. We are looking for candidates that have practical skills and knowledge in trades such as painting and decorating, carpentry and gardening to name a few.  Successful candidates would also need to be able to communicate effectively with young people in order to motivate them and to keep them on task. Experience of working with teenagers, the ability to travel across East Sussex and availability to work on both Saturday and Sunday when required is essential.
