We are an innovative, friendly, non-profit working across Brighton & Hove. You will be joining a team of committed individuals who love an excuse to share good food with others! You will lead community gardening activities across Brighton & Hove - particularly at our vegetable garden in Preston Park, but also for a range of partner organisations (eg garden at a day centre, supported housing unit, refuge, or allotment). This post is part of our new 'Sharing the Harvest' project which will support people with learning disabilities or those with experience of homelessness, mental health issues, abuse and addiction to improve their health & wellbeing at community gardens. We are looking for someone friendly and approachable who wants to share their enthusiasm for gardening with a diverse range of people. You will have strong experience of empowering and engaging vulnerable adults in activities, with a flexible and adaptable approach. You will be self motivated and able to work independently while also working well as part of a small, dynamic organisation and team.  Strong gardening knowledge and good written and oral communication skills are essential. 37.5 hours per week, salary £24,063. Job share applications welcome. 25 days per year annual leave plus bank holidays. Fixed term contract from January 2015 to September 2017. This post is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund. Closing date for applications is 5pm on Friday 14th November 2014.
