We are looking to recruit a Senior Practitioner for the new East Sussex substance misuse Local Area Single Assessment Referral Service (LASARS).  This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in shaping a county wide assessment and care management service for East Sussex adults with substance misuse and/or alcohol issues. The service has been operational since April 2014 and is co-located with the new Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service over three sites.  Based in Hastings but with countywide responsibilities, the Senior Practitioner role will assist in providing leadership to the team. Under supervision from the Practice Manager, s/he will co-work with the other Senior Practitioner to: lead a duty system; allocate referrals within the team; screen Safeguarding Alerts; act as Investigation Manager and supervise a team of social workers and Resource Officers. This service will also develop strong links with criminal justice agencies. You will need to have excellent assessment and risk management skills, strong communication and supervision skills and the ability to prioritise and manage your workload . Whilst experience in drug or alcohol services would be desirable, a strong background in safeguarding adults at risk would be equally valued.   This is a permanent position however any current East Sussex County Council employees, who would like to develop and improve their current skill basis, are welcomed to apply for a 12 month secondment opportunity (Line managers approval would need to be sought before applying).
