The PWP team at Mind in Brighton and Hove is part of the recently re-commissioned Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service.  A partnership of four organisations (Mind in Brighton and Hove, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, HERE, and YMCA Downslink Group) with a track record of providing high quality services to the communities of Brighton and Hove, Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service is a complete Primary Care Mental Health service rather than a standalone IAPT service.

This means you will benefit from:

·         Wraparound support for your patients from experienced Mind colleagues who offer work and learning advice and support; advice and information and advocacy

·         A joined-up Children and Young People's pathway which combines NHS and 3rd sector expertise and is likely to provide exciting development opportunities for Step 2

·         Working with experienced Primary Care Mental Health Practitioners who offer a wealth of knowledge from nursing, social work, and occupational health backgrounds to aid risk management and support of patients who may be less able to benefit from IAPT intervention.

The Wellbeing Service is committed to growing Step 2 provision over the next three years to offer earlier intervention and quicker treatment to Brighton and Hove residents experiencing depression and anxiety. This expansion will mean on-going opportunities to explore special interests and help to shape the service, working with professionals from a variety of clinical backgrounds.

Alongside your core work of delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based guided self-help over the telephone and face-to-face you will have the chance to be involved in a variety of on-going projects. We have recently introduced SilverCloud to provide flexible, online treatment and will be expanding this to offer programmes for long term conditions including chronic pain. We run an extensive psycho-educational group programme. We also work closely with the University of Brighton offering student specific courses. We are pleased to be taking part in the exciting LightMIND research project with the Sussex Mindfulness Centre.

All successful applicants are subject to DBS.

Interview dates: 16th and 17th November 2017
