The Adolescent Pod works with young people who are at high risk of sexual exploitation, radicalisation and/or who are at risk of entering care or custody. This demanding role requires the ability to engage hard to reach young people, through building and maintaining effective relationships. Requiring the ability to create innovative packages of support, intervention and care that are tailored to meet individual needs. Providing the opportunity to specialise in working with adolescents as a Social Worker in this team you will hold a caseload of between 6 and 10 young people with support from a range of adolescent targeted services including Functional Family Therapy, Youth Employability, Youth Offending, Substance Misuse Services and the Extended Adolescent Support Service. We have recently moved to a group supervision model that hinges on systemic relationship based practice. To succeed in diverting young people from the youth justice system and improving their life chances, you will need sensitivity to their diverse needs, the ability to effectively challenge, the curiosity and skill to holistically assess and the resilience to work in a highly politicised, resource limited environment. About you You must hold a Professional Social Work Qualification (e.g. CQSW, Dip(SW), MSW) and be registered as a social worker with the HCPC. The candidate must have completed their ASYE. In addition, you will need to have experience of working directly with children in need and their families in a multi-disciplinary service and be able to build strong, meaningful relationships with children from diverse backgrounds, their families and key agencies.
